🌈 The Paluz Waterfall: where the water sings and the elves awaken

Everything began because lately I’ve been feeling blocked, weighed down by emotions like sadness, worry, and uncertainty about the future. I made the decision to move to another city—to leave everything: work, friends, neighbors—and start again.

A new beginning is good. It renews us, keeps us alive. From a place of self-love, I want to prepare for what’s coming. As a first step, I decided to do an energetic cleansing bath, and I did it in two natural places: at the Paluz Waterfall and at the Yangorral Waterfall (I’ll tell you about that beautiful place another time).

🚶‍➡️ We begin the magical journey

I don’t know if it’s happened to you, but there are places that are not just visited… they’re felt. The Paluz Waterfall, located just a few kilometers from the city of San Gabriel, in Montúfar canton, Carchi province, was one of those for me. I needed to walk, breathe in nature, but I ended up experiencing something much deeper: an encounter with magic, with the invisible… with what still lives in the enchanted corners of our land.

From the very start of the path, the murmur of water called me—like a whisper from the trees that knew I needed to be there. The walk is calm, wrapped in tall trees and embracing vegetation. And suddenly, there she was before me: the Paluz Waterfall—powerful, vibrant, alive.

🌿 A bath of energy and rebirth

I felt it was the perfect place to release the old, the heavy, everything that no longer served me. I approached the water, closed my eyes, asked permission from the spirit of the place… and gave myself an energetic cleansing bath.

The icy water shocked me, but at the same time I felt something being released. As if the water wasn’t just falling on my body, but on my soul. Every drop washed away sadness, fear, exhaustion. When I emerged, I felt renewed. Lighter. As if the waterfall had returned me to myself.

💧 A meeting with the invisible

I sat in contemplation. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to simply be. In that sacred silence, I asked myself how often we miss the magic of the simple things because we’re too distracted. In that hidden corner, surrounded by moss, stones, and living water, I felt the presence of something ancestral. Something without a name, yet deeply felt. Maybe it was the earth, maybe the elves… or maybe, finally, it was me.

✨ Where magic still lives

What makes this waterfall special is not only its natural beauty, but also the mystical stories that surround it. Locals say elves and magical beings live there. That if you stay silent and look with your heart, you can feel their presence. I didn’t see them, but I swear I felt them. Maybe it was the air, or the light filtering through the leaves… but something was there, watching with tenderness.

🔥 Nature to share: games, camping, and fire

Beyond its spiritual charm, the place has a wide open area that pleasantly surprised me. There are spots set up for barbecues, where you can share a good meal with friends or family, and even an ideal space to camp under the stars. At night, the sky opens like a blanket full of stories and silences. Sleeping there is a unique experience.

There’s also a natural field where you can play soccer or simply let your energy out with laughter and movement. It’s a place where adventure blends with stillness, and where both children and adults find their own way to enjoy.

🧚‍♀️ A journey to the heart of the sacred

This experience was more than a walk—it was a journey into the soul. The energy of the place, the connection with the water, the song of the forest, the unspoken mysteries… everything came together to remind me that life is full of small portals to the sacred. We just need to know how to see them—or at least, let them see us.

If you’re going through a time of change, if you feel the need to release, to heal, or simply to remember who you are, the Paluz Waterfall is a place worth visiting with an open heart.

I came back changed. Softer. More alive. And with a deep certainty: nature heals, holds, and transforms.
